Belmont Recruitment are currently looking to speak with Project Workers for a role based in the Manchester area. The position is working with a women-led organisation, where the Project Workers deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, focusing on early intervention and holistic provision as part of the 'whole system multi-agency response' that looks to address the root causes of women's offending. The successful candidate's main role will be to provide ongoing support to a caseload of women in the community of Manchester.

We are looking for a passionate and committed Project Worker to join our team supporting women in the community who are in contact with, or at risk of contact with, the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one, trauma-informed support to women in the community.
  • Carry out risk and needs assessments and co-develop personalised support plans.
  • Build effective partnerships with statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver coordinated, holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case records and contribute to service monitoring and evaluation.
  • Represent the organisation at community and professional meetings, promoting a gender-responsive approach to support.
  • Engage in reflective supervision, self-care and continuous professional development.
About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience providing support to women facing multiple disadvantages (e.g. housing, benefits, substance use, or mental health challenges).
  • Must have current prison clearance to be considered for this position.
  • A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a range of partners.
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload, maintain accurate records and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and to empowering women to achieve lasting change.
