Overview

Belmont is a proud independent company; we are involved in the conversion of Corrugated Sheets into Corrugated Cartons and boxes. Our aim is to have highly motivated warehouse members to be part of the team at our established site in Hindley Green, Wigan. To do this role you will have a “CAN DO” attitude and you are able to adapt quickly to business needs. This role is crucial to the success of Belmont and will need you to work safely as part of a team and be well organised and professional in meeting the highest standards and efficiency, that our customer base demands.

Responsibilities

  • Operate in line with Health and Safety regulations set out in the training
  • Support in loading and unloading of trailers
  • Responsible for keeping the pallet press and robopac running and clear at all times
  • Responsible for keeping the pallet press and robopac clean and tidy at all times
  • Keep Baler clear and change wires as required and empty dust bag
  • As part of a team liaise and empty all general waste bins regularly
  • Work within a team and communicate well even under pressure, and take full responsibility for the quality of your work
  • Support in the warehouse as required and instructed by your Team leader
  • Ensure all machines have board in the correct order
  • Communicate with responsible person any health and safety issues, maintenance issues or matters of concern on the floor
  • Operation of a forklift in any capacity reasonably required by the organisation
  • Use PPE and wear appropriate clothing as provided
  • Any other reasonable request by management such as assist on production machinery when required
  • Leave all your responsible areas as you would wish to find them

The Person

  • Should have experience in a modern manufacturing facility.
  • Able to operate a forklift truck in a safe and competent manner.
  • Your hours will be 7am-5pm Monday to Thursday.
  • Holiday periods may need to be flexible until we begin to have a multiskilled site.
  • Business needs may mean changes are needed at short notice and so that we can only provide reasonable notice of changes to hours in the manner we are provided by production demands from our customers or that are created by sickness.
  • Reasonable English skills are required to carry out this role safely and efficiently.
