This is a broad, hands-on finance role at the heart of a growing estate. As Estate Accountant you’ll take real ownership of the day-to-day financial operations that keep Belmont running; from ledger management and supplier payments to month-end reporting, VAT returns and fixed asset maintenance. It’s a role that rewards someone who is thorough and curious in equal measure. You’ll manage both the purchase and sales ledger end-to-end, input to the month and year-end cycle, and develop a genuine understanding of the estate’s commercial activities across multiple entities. There is also real scope to contribute to wider business projects and process improvement as the estate continues to grow.

What matters most is your attention to detail, your dependability and your ability to work autonomously to a deadline while remaining a collaborative and communicative member of the team. If you’re a capable finance professional who wants a role with genuine variety and a workplace with genuine values, we’d love to hear from you.

What we’re looking for:

  • Part-qualified or qualified accountant (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience
  • Proven experience in an accountant or similar finance role, ideally within a small to medium-sized business
  • Demonstrable experience managing purchase and sales ledgers, including reconciliations and payment processing
  • Experience preparing month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and VAT returns
  • Proficiency in Xero or comparable accounting software and strong Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of VAT and a high degree of numerical accuracy
  • Familiarity with stock management, fixed asset registers or intercompany accounting (desirable)
  • Full and clean driving licence

What’s on offer:

  • A genuinely broad finance role with real ownership and variety, not a narrow processing function
  • The opportunity to contribute to business improvement projects and grow your skillset as the estate develops
  • A values-led organisation with a genuine commitment to nature recovery, community and climate action
  • Permanent position, full-time or part-time, based near Bristol with hybrid working
