The Website Executive's role within the Web Team is a crucial support position responsible for maintaining and enhancing the online presence of the organisation. The scope encompasses a broad range of tasks, from contributing to content creation and improving website functionality by providing technical, creative and administrative assistance to team members. The purpose of this role is to streamline web operations, improve content quality and accessibility, and support the overall effectiveness of the Web Team in achieving its strategic goals, ultimately contributing to a positive user experience and the success of our online initiatives.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Content Management: Assist in the creation, editing, and publishing of website content, ensuring adherence to accessibility guidelines.
- Website Maintenance: Perform regular website audits to identify and fix broken links, errors, technical issues, and accessibility violations.
- SEO/GEO: Support the content team with SEO/GEO research, auditing and reporting.
- Accessibility Audits and Remediation: Support accessibility audits using automated tools and manual testing methods, through our agency to drive to Level AA compliance. Analyse accessibility reporting. Support the implementation of accessibility fixes, including adding alt text to images, ensuring proper heading structure, and improving keyboard navigation.
- Data Analysis: Support the team with the understanding of website analytics, actioning insights, to support our optimisation and personalisation strategies.
- Testing Support: Provide testing support to web team members, including troubleshooting, web development testing and usability reviews.
- Optimisation Support: Work with CRO agency and Head of Digital Development to deliver experimentation testing and analysis of further iterations to improve conversion and engagement.
- Gift Cards Support: Work with Gift Card agency and customer services team to service gift card queries.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the web team, including managing purchase orders, invoicing, scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing reports as needed.
- Research: Conduct research on industry trends, competitor websites, new web technologies, and best practices.
- Project Coordination: Assist in the coordination of smaller web projects and departmental campaigns, including tracking progress, managing timelines, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring accessibility is integrated throughout the development lifecycle.
