As the Chief Engineer for the British Pullman a Belmond Train, you are responsible for the smooth running and operation of the train. In this role, you will manage the team, take full control of all maintenance and engineering required to safely and successfully operate and maintain the British Pullman. Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure the product operates in line with regulatory and industry standards, while supporting upgrades, improvements, and new functionality rollouts.
- Oversee maintenance planning (preventative and mandatory), equipment lifecycle, inventory, and supply chain to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Manage staff, contractors, budgets, and resources, ensuring effective coordination, cost control, and optimal product performance.
- Lead departmental operations by enforcing procedures, improving efficiency and customer experience, monitoring performance, and maintaining compliance with company policies.
- Promote strong communication, staff development, confidentiality, and professional conduct, while fostering teamwork, engagement, and adherence to training and operational standards.
Qualifications
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Proven leadership ability and experience in handling and coordinating different teams.
- At least 5 years of experience maintaining and/or overhauling railway vehicles, ideally Mk3 vehicles and/or BT10 bogies.
- Literate and numerate, able to plan work and communicate effectively with in‑house artisans, contractors, on‑train staff and those of Network Rail, train operators and other companies.
- Ideally a qualified assessor to TAQA/A1/D32/33 standards.
