As a Food & Beverage Bar Steward at Britannic Explorer, a Belmond Train, you will be an integral part of a team delivering world-class hospitality in a unique, luxury setting. You will provide exceptional food and beverage service ensuring every guest enjoys an unforgettable experience. Primary Responsibilities
- Preparing and serving a wide range of alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wine, and spirits.
- Serving pre‑lunch and dinner drinks, canapés, afternoon tea beverages, and ‘welcome back' drinks when guests return from off-board excursions.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and well‑stocked bar area, including washing glassware and bar equipment.
- Preparing bar mise en place and ensuring all supplies are ready for service.
- Providing knowledgeable recommendations about drinks, wine pairings and the offerings available onboard.
- Assisting with general onboard hospitality duties, including greeting guests and supporting operational departments as required.
Requirements
- Applicants must have eligibility to work in the UK.
- 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role as a bartender or bar person, ideally within the luxury hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of drink preparation, mixology, and wine service.
- Hospitality qualification an advantage.
- Understanding of COSHH and safe handling of cleaning products.
- Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, high‑end hospitality environment.
