What you will be doing:
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Material Stores Person to oversee and actively participate in the day-to-day operation of our materials stores, reporting directly to the QA & Stores Manager.
This hands-on role involves the receipt, storage, control, handling, and distribution of a wide range of engineering materials, including aluminium, steel, and other raw materials used within the manufacturing process.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring materials are accurately received, identified, stored, and issued while maintaining full material traceability throughout the production process
Candidates should have previous experience working within a manufacturing or engineering stores environment and possess a good understanding of material handling procedures, stock control, and traceability requirements. Experience handling metals such as aluminium and steel, together with knowledge of material certification and batch traceability, is highly desirable. Previous experience operating material cutting equipment, such as saws or cutting machines, would be advantageous.

Based in recently refurbished manufacturing and assembly facility in Daventry.
Principle Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and book in deliveries of raw materials and engineering components.
- Store, identify, and maintain a wide range of materials, including aluminium, steel, and other production materials.
- Ensure full material traceability is maintained through accurate labelling, certification control, and stock records.
- Pick and issue materials to production in line with manufacturing requirements.
- Cut materials to specified lengths using appropriate cutting equipment and procedures.
- Transport materials safely between stores and production areas.
- Carry out regular stock checks and perpetual inventory counts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate stock records using the company's ERP and inventory management systems.
- Process material returns, stock adjustments, and goods movements as required.
- Ensure all materials are correctly identified, stored, and protected from damage.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe stores environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance stores efficiency and inventory accuracy.
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries when required.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and ISO9001 requirements.
- Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Operations teams to support business objectives.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the QA & Stores Manager.
What we’re looking for
Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a stores, warehouse, materials, or engineering environment.
- Experience handling a variety of raw materials, including aluminium, steel, and other engineering materials.
- Understanding of material traceability requirements and the importance of maintaining accurate records.
- Experience using stock control, inventory management, or ERP systems.
- Previous experience receiving, storing, and issuing materials within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating material cutting equipment (saws or similar machinery) is desirable.
- Understanding of goods-in processes, stock control, and inventory accuracy.
- Knowledge of ISO9001 quality standards and procedures is advantageous.
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence preferred but not essential.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
