There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK's largest house builders. Our Yorkshire Division, located in Leeds is looking to recruit a Construction Secretary to join the Division's Construction team.
The Role
The role of Construction Secretary supports the Head of Construction and Construction Managers in the day to day running of the office and provides secretarial and administration support to the construction department.
Principal accountabilities of the Construction Secretary role include:
- Prepare meeting schedules.
- Type all correspondence generated by the Construction Director and Construction team including; letters, memos, meeting minutes, specifications, board reports, health and safety documentation and new site set up notifications.
- Maintain attendance and overtime working records for site staff.
- For new sites organise phone connections, provide set up stationary, documentation, signage and necessary paperwork/files and supply PPE.
- Maintain updates of health and safety procedures, updating and distribution of site safety notices for all sites.
- Organise staff training as directed by the Construction Director and Construction Managers, maintaining records and the Division's training record.
- Act as the point of contact for all of the Division's apprentices.
- Provide relief switchboard and reception cover as and when required.

Experience
- Experience of working within a busy and fast-paced administration role.
- Experience of working within the construction industry desirable.
Qualifications and Training
- GCSE Maths and English – Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
Skills and Aptitude
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisation and administration skills, including good attention to detail.
- Ability to work on own as well as part of a team.
- Works effectively to deadlines and competently works on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systems.
