There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our Northern Home Counties Division is looking to recruit a Sales Manager to join the Division’s Sales team.
The RoleThe role of a Sales Manager is responsible for the sales process on site with the objective of achieving all targets and forecasts within specified timescales and budgets. They must ensure that maximum profit is achieved through the effective management of the sales team’s performance. The Sales Manager also provides full management support to the Sales Director, whilst ensuring we give the highest level of service to all customers.
Principal accountabilities of the role include:- Achieve sales targets for each development and effectively work within financial parameters to maximise profit
- Implement and ensure completion of the Bellway induction programme for new Sales Advisors. Undertake recruitment of Sales Advisors, regular site visits and fulfil ongoing training, motivation and support of the sales team. Including individual mentoring, coaching and development to improve the performance where required
- Ensure that each development is fully staffed to the required level at all times and holiday and sickness cover is pro-actively managed
- Ensure all new sales outlets, including temporary cabins, are fully functional and completed by specified timelines. This includes ensuring all site sales material and overall presentation is maintained to the correct and optimum standard
- Work with Sales Director/Head of Sales to propose new sale price releases and propose individual sales strategies as and when required, this includes providing input with regards to development advertising/PR strategies
- Ensure Senior Sales Advisors/Sales Advisors hold weekly construction/sales meetings, keep an up-to-date record of these meetings and take action when required
- Regularly inspect Bellway properties to ensure they are well maintained and presented
- Suggest and support marketing activities that align with Divisional and Company objectives
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies, processes and standards
- Experience of working within a sales-focussed role
- Experience managing sales team and holding responsibility for direct reports
- Experience of working as part of a dynamic and successful sales team
- History of delivering an excellent customer experience
- Experience of working with customers to resolve problems and to deliver outstanding customer service
- Current full UK driving licence
- Access to a vehicle for business use as required
- Ability to directly manage a team providing front-line services to customers in a sales environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently but as part of a team, contributing to the delivery of sales targets
- Proficient IT skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and the ability to adapt to new systems

- Office based but regular travel to divisional office and developments within the divisional region is required
- Willingness to work flexibly and outside core hours as and when required.
