There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UKs largest house builders. Our Southern Counties Division is looking to recruit a Sales Director to join the Divisions Sales team.
The Role
The Sales Director has overall responsibility for the management of the divisional sales department with the key objective of setting strategies, achieving all targets and forecasts within specified timescales and budgets whilst ensuring sales activities align with company objectives. They must ensure that maximum profit is achieved through the effective management of the sales teams performance, whilst ensuring we give the highest level of service to all customers.
Principal Accountabilities of the role include:
- Working with the divisions senior management team to deliver the strategy to achieve the 3-year forecast.
- Responsible for the sales department financial matters and forecasting. Including the pricing of properties, achieving sales targets, contract exchange, completion targets and working within financial constraints.
- Effectively lead, manage, and motivate the divisional sales team to improve the overall sales performance. This includes overseeing the Bellway induction programme, providing regular training, mentoring, coaching, development, and feedback.
- Have an appreciation of market awareness for land acquisition and sales strategies.
- Undertake regular site visits and liaise with Senior/Sales Managers to ensure sales offices and developments are set up and are maintained to a high standard.
- Develop sales strategies for developments/plots and review the placement of all members of the sales team within the division, ensuring a high standard of performance is maintained.
- Manage budgets for advertising/PR, show homes/sales office set-up, staffing, and any other expenditure. Responsible for advertising/PR campaigns including provision of information and design input to meet monthly deadlines, working alongside Group Marketing.
- Prepare and attend regular meetings, including Divisional, external and Group Head Office meetings.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
Experience, Qualification and Skills
Experience
- Experience of leading a successful sales team within the new homes property sector.
- Experience of working in a customer focussed environment and to develop and deliver a positive customer journey.
- Experience and knowledge of effective sales marketing techniques.
Qualifications and Training
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C (or equivalent) or above.
- Current full UK driving licence.
- Access to a vehicle for business use as required.
Skills and Aptitude
- Ability to be proactive and work on own initiative.
- Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal/organisational skills.

- Office based but regular travel to developments within the divisional region is required.
