The Role: We are looking for an Assistant Operations Manager who brings energy, enthusiasm, and a can-do mindset to our fast-paced food production environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to learn the business and make a real impact on performance, people, and processes.
As an Assistant Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of our manufacturing operations, ensuring production is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Supporting and leading daily manufacturing operations to deliver production targets.
- Motivating and developing teams, including Production Co-ordinators and Supervisors.
- Driving a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Identifying inefficiencies and implementing practical solutions.
- Ensuring high standards of quality, food safety, and compliance (HACCP & GMP).
- Monitoring performance and taking action to improve output, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
- Taking full operational responsibility when required, ensuring smooth and effective site performance.
- Collaborating across departments to resolve challenges and keep production moving.
You:
- A proven leadership track record of working within a food manufacturing or similar industry.
- Experience in food manufacturing or a similar production setting.
- A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to roll up your sleeves.
- Strong drive, ambition, and a desire to own your area and make improvements.
- Natural leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage teams.
- Confidence to make decisions and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP).
- Continuous improvement experience (Lean / Six Sigma) (desirable).
- Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH / NEBOSH) (desirable).
