The Role: We are looking for an Assistant Operations Manager who brings energy, enthusiasm, and a can-do mindset to our fast-paced food production environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to learn the business and make a real impact on performance, people, and processes.

As an Assistant Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of our manufacturing operations, ensuring production is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Supporting and leading daily manufacturing operations to deliver production targets.
  • Motivating and developing teams, including Production Co-ordinators and Supervisors.
  • Driving a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Identifying inefficiencies and implementing practical solutions.
  • Ensuring high standards of quality, food safety, and compliance (HACCP & GMP).
  • Monitoring performance and taking action to improve output, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
  • Taking full operational responsibility when required, ensuring smooth and effective site performance.
  • Collaborating across departments to resolve challenges and keep production moving.

You:

  • A proven leadership track record of working within a food manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Experience in food manufacturing or a similar production setting.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to roll up your sleeves.
  • Strong drive, ambition, and a desire to own your area and make improvements.
  • Natural leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage teams.
  • Confidence to make decisions and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP).
  • Continuous improvement experience (Lean / Six Sigma) (desirable).
  • Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH / NEBOSH) (desirable).
