As a Caretaker with Bellrock, you’ll do it by:

  • Providing day-to-day porterage and general maintenance service, including routine PPM tasks and reactive maintenance.
  • Working closely with other members of the Facilities Team to prioritise day-to-day tasks and duties.
  • Opening and closing the building depending on shift pattern.
  • Conducting daily checks of the interior and exterior condition of the premises, ensuring defects are reported and graffiti removed.
  • Carrying out or assisting M&E technicians with PPM tasks and remedial work.
  • Recording utility services meter readings.
  • Carrying out weekly tests on fire alarms and undertaking ad-hoc fire evacuation tests in liaison with the Facilities Manager.
  • Liaising with Facilities Manager/Helpdesk/Specialist Sub-contractor to attend breakdowns to specialist plant and equipment.
  • Providing a handyperson service for minor maintenance items.
  • Supporting daily cleaning operations where required.
  • External litter picking, grounds maintenance, gritting, and snow clearance.
  • Monitoring and replenishing consumable stock levels.
  • Collection and distribution of deliveries.
  • Sortation and delivery of post throughout the building.
  • Any reasonable and related ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Facilities Manager.

Working arrangements:

We embrace smarter working practices which offer our employees the opportunity to work their hours flexibly and remotely where their roles and business needs allow. In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work from the Worcester Library, Worcester, WR1 3PB, Monday to Sunday 06.30 – 22.30. Shift pattern will be based on a 3 early (06.30 – 15.00), 3 late (14.00 – 22.30) and 3 off, Monday to Sunday. Participation in the shift rota will be a contractual requirement.
