As a Mobile Electrical Engineer, you will deliver planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a portfolio of client sites, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards and statutory requirements. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, installations, and maintenance, while providing excellent customer service and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. The role requires a proactive approach, effective workload management, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service and client satisfaction.

Trade Related Tasks

  • Perform planned and reactive trade-related maintenance within assigned areas, utilising skills and expertise as allocated by the Scheduler and/or relevant managers.
  • Respond to electrical faults and issues promptly, diagnosing and repairing faults as necessary.
  • Manage van stock as required.
  • Install, maintain, and test electrical systems and equipment to the highest standards.
  • Attend to emergency repairs promptly and participate in out-of-hours call‑out rotations when necessary.
  • Diagnose and provide solutions to rectify faults, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Take measurements, estimate labour, and identify material requirements for follow‑on works via the red reporting system.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, including any follow‑up actions required.
  • Collaborate with other trades to support broader maintenance tasks as needed.

Compliance

  • Ensure timely, accurate submission of electronic worksheets and timesheets.
  • Provide accurate paper‑based documents where required.
  • Submit detailed task reports and red reports, as necessary.
  • Provide draft quotes for follow on works.
  • Capture and deliver photographic (before and after) records of completed work.
  • Ensure full compliance with client requirements for signing in/out of record books (Bellrocks folders), scanning off at the end of each task.
  • Maintain and exercise divergence with company plant/equipment – promptly highlighting defectives to line managers when necessary.

Internal & External Customer Relations

  • Always uphold the company’s professional image.
  • Foster strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders through effective communication.
  • Efficiently report any delays or issues to Schedulers, Supervisors and Managers.
  • Resolve client‑related concerns or disputes with a purposeful approach.
  • Ensure workspaces are always kept clean and orderly.

Health & Safety

  • Work inline with the company's Safe System of Work.
  • Adhere to Method statement, ensuring POWRA in place at all times.
  • Conduct work in a safe and diligent manner adhering to company policies, procedures, risk & method statements.
  • Assist in monitoring practices and routines to ensure compliance with relevant SHE legislation and regulations.
  • Report any H&S issues, concerns, bad practice, or non‑conformance to Management.
  • Undertake robust site‑specific risk assessments.

General

  • Understand & comply with company‑wide policies and procedures.
  • Fully participate in training activities including e‑learning.
  • Contribute to departmental meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the post‑holder’s knowledge and skills which are necessary for the satisfactory completion of contracts or business goals.

What does it take?

  • Recognised trade qualifications in electrical.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification (BS7671) preferred.
  • Testing and inspection qualifications advantageous (e.g., C&G 2391).
  • AM1 & 2.
  • Experience working with Microsoft assets management systems.
  • Full driving licence.

Working arrangements
