Role Overview

Join one of the UK's leading commercial service charge consultancies, working with some of the country's best-known retail and leisure brands.

You’ll manage a portfolio of service charges, analysing budgets, reconciliations, leases and financial information to identify issues and savings opportunities.

You’ll also work directly with landlords and managing agents to negotiate the best outcomes for our clients.

It’s a great opportunity for someone with some commercial service charge experience who is analytical, inquisitive and keen to develop their expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a substantial portfolio of commercial service charges on behalf of our blue-chip retail and leisure clients
  • Reviewing and analysing service charge budgets, reconciliations and financial information to understand costs and identify areas for challenge
  • Reviewing leases and other contractual documentation to understand service charge obligations and identify opportunities to minimise client liabilities
  • Identifying discrepancies, unusual expenditure and potential savings opportunities through detailed analysis of service charge information
  • Challenging service charge costs and negotiating directly with landlords and managing agents to secure the best possible outcomes for clients
  • Clearly communicating findings, recommendations and progress to clients, helping them understand key issues and potential savings opportunities
  • Working collaboratively with clients, landlords, managing agents, solicitors and technical specialists to investigate and resolve service charge matters
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date portfolio information using our bespoke Insight RE system
  • Building strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders, becoming a trusted point of contact for service charge queries
  • Supporting the wider team in delivering a high-quality service while maximising savings and value for our clients

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with commercial service charges, ideally from an occupier perspective
  • Experience communicating with landlords and managing agents
  • Understanding of leases and relevant contractual terms
  • Ability to analyse service charge budgets, reconciliations and financial information
  • Confidence identifying issues and opportunities to reduce client liabilities
  • Experience working with clients, solicitors and technical specialists
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong commercial awareness with good communication and negotiation skills
  • Analytical and inquisitive, with a keen eye for detail
  • Confident working with numbers and financial information
  • Organised and able to manage priorities and deadlines
  • Proactive, motivated and keen to develop your expertise
  • A collaborative team player who can also work independently
