Data Analyst - Energy and Smart Engineering
London | Hybrid
Role Overview
Bellrock Group’s Canary Lab is shaping the future of data-driven Facilities Management by turning building, asset and environmental data into actionable insights.
As an Analytics & Insights Analyst, you’ll analyse energy, BMS, asset performance, indoor environmental quality and FM data to identify risks, inefficiencies and opportunities.
Your insights will support smarter decisions, helping clients reduce costs and carbon, improve comfort and compliance, and extend asset life across major UK property portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
You will produce accurate, timely and commercially relevant insights that help clients and operational teams make better decisions. Working closely with analysts, FM teams and technology platforms, you’ll validate and interpret data, turning it into clear recommendations and practical actions.
- Analyse energy, BMS, IEQ, asset and FM operational data across multiple client portfolios.
- Produce high-quality dashboards, reports, commentary and prioritised recommendations.
- Support the development of Power BI reporting, insight summaries and performance narratives.
- Identify trends, anomalies, risks and opportunities relating to energy use, asset performance, comfort and operational efficiency.
- Translate complex findings into clear, action-focused insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Use platforms including Concerto, Power BI, Demand Logic, Tapp+, Clearworld, Pulse and Carrot, alongside IoT sensors and Bellrock’s remote Triage Bureau.
- Work with FM teams, supply chain partners and the Bellrock Bureau to turn insights into operational action.
- Escalate data quality issues and risks with clear evidence and recommendations.
- Help improve analytics processes, dashboards, rules and automation.
- Maintain strong data integrity, documentation and analytical governance.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in analytics, data analysis or performance reporting within FM, property, energy, sustainability or operational environments (or strong transferable skills).
- Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI preferred) and data analysis techniques.
- Understanding of energy data, asset performance, BMS or FM data is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience working with CAFM/IWMS, IoT, BMS or operational datasets is desirable.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interrogate data and challenge assumptions.
- Confidence working with time-series and operational datasets and explaining results clearly.
- Ability to balance detail with commercial relevance, focusing on what matters most to the client.
- Willingness to learn new platforms, technologies and FM concepts in a fast-moving environment.
- Collaborative mindset, working effectively with analysts, engineers, consultants and operational teams.
AI fluency & learning mindset: We are looking for people who actively use AI in their day‑to‑day work, demonstrate strong curiosity about new technologies, and take ownership for continuously improving how they think, work, and deliver.
