Due to increasing workload, we are currently seeking a Building Surveyor in our Edinburgh or Glasgow office, assisting our established building surveying team. You will carry out the day-to-day duties of a Building Surveyor on allocated projects, assist the management team with the mentoring of junior staff and resource management, and work towards designated RICS APC route. This role provides a challenging and rewarding opportunity to develop within a dynamic team working on a broad range of both professional and project related work for both public and private sector clients, supported by a medium-sized multi-professional consultancy.

As a Building Surveyor with Bellrock, you’ll do it by:

  • Measured surveys: preparation of floor plans, elevations, and details on AutoCAD (must be AutoCAD proficient).
  • Building surveys: condition surveys, schedules of condition, defects diagnosis inspections, detailed measured surveys.
  • Project building surveying: design including the preparation of AutoCAD drawings, preparation of statutory consent applications, preparation of tender documents, project monitoring and contract administration.
  • Building pathology: identifying building defects and failures and developing solutions including advice on estimated costs and programme.
  • Property management: preparation of planned maintenance programmes including elemental cost preparation.
  • CDM services (desirable but not essential): preparation of pre-construction information and health and safety files.

  • Building Surveying BSc or BSc (Hons) degree (accredited by RICS) or working towards.
  • Competency in using AutoCAD and measured survey (essential).
  • Knowledge of refurbishment and alteration of existing buildings (essential).
  • Relevant building surveying consultancy experience (essential).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to progress your career with a leading consultancy.
  • Full UK driving licence and have use of own vehicle.

Working arrangements: We embrace smarter working practices which offer our employees the opportunity to work their hours flexibly and remotely where their roles and business needs allow. In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work from Summers-Inman, Suite 4, Pavilion 1, The Quadrant, 14 New Mart Road Edinburgh, EH14 1RL and home based. Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm.
