As the Building Performance Engineer on the Wakefield Council contract you will work across the client’s portfolio to support sub‑contracted teams in delivering facilities engineering services in line with Bellrock’s contractual and statutory obligations. The role is home‑based with regular travel to properties across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance for all engineering services across the portfolio.
  • Support regional managers on statutory compliance, ensuring SFG20 and insurance inspections are met.
  • Explore alternative maintenance strategies such as condition‑based maintenance and deliver them as appropriate.
  • Monitor occupancy types to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and best practice.
  • Collaborate with the Energy & Sustainability Manager on technical support for innovations and initiatives.
  • Assist FM teams in maintaining H&S audits, risk assessments for contractors and advise on remedial works.
  • Prepare and produce project reports when required.
  • Deliver optimised workspaces that prioritize ESG and comfort.
  • Guide and mentor operational teams, supporting site queries, emergencies and escalations.
  • Own key deliverables to the Compliance Manager, providing updates, reporting and identifying opportunities.

Commercial Duties

  • Verify contracts and ensure standards delivery of the Planned Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Assist FM and Supply Chain teams in performance management of contracts to meet technical KPIs.
  • Provide weekly/monthly compliance reports to the Client as requested by the Compliance Manager and Account Director.
  • Review subcontractor performance and liaise with procurement, supply chain and planning teams.

Technology Tasks

  • Become proficient with the Concerto CAFM system to monitor contract performance.
  • Understand client technology systems and develop opportunities for API, application and IoT integration.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive management information reporting to the Compliance Manager.
  • Measure and monitor engineering compliance, providing detailed trend analysis and improvement plans.
  • Conduct maintenance engineering audits and keep project records.
  • Manage the PPM schedule and support supplier and delivery teams.
  • Provide technical advice and authorisation where required.
  • Offer lifecycle and forward maintenance regime advice.
  • Report engineering updates and impacts to key stakeholders, ensuring briefings on budgets, expenditure control and potential issues.

Risk Management

  • Support implementation of SSOW procedures alongside the QSHE Director.
  • Review statutory task due dates before loading the PPM planner.
  • Update WRA/FRA written schemes, assessing AE’s/AP’s annually.
  • Review RAMs/COSHH policy annually or as required.
  • Attend management meetings as required.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships under the direction of the Compliance Manager.

Business Growth

  • Ensure additional service requests and variations are priced and documented in line with contractual requirements and operational expenditure considerations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Good knowledge of compliance delivery best practices.
  • 5+ years managing multi‑site or large FM contracts that require regular reporting.
  • Experience auditing in corporate environments.
  • Understanding of client relationship management in changing environments.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to articulate complex information succinctly.
  • Health and Safety qualifications.
  • Engineering qualifications in Mechanical and Electrical activity (CIBSE or HND).

Working Arrangements
