To act as the Building Performance Engineer on the prestigious Wakefield Council contract, working across the client’s portfolio ensuring our sub‑contracted teams have an efficient, effective and pro‑active approach to the management of the facilities engineering services in line with Bellrock’s contractual and statutory obligations. This role will be home‑based and will involve regular travel to properties located across the UK.

Operations

  • Maintain an up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance documents for all Engineering services relevant to all the properties.
  • Support the regional managers on Statutory Compliance in all areas that meet SFG20 and insurance legislative inspections required for the portfolio.
  • Explore alternative maintenance strategies and deliver as appropriate such as condition‑based maintenance.
  • Monitor the type of occupancy of the facilities, ensuring compliance with the respective statutory regulation, mandatory legislation and recognised best practice.
  • Work closely with the Energy & Sustainability Manager giving technical support on innovations and initiative implementation.
  • Support the FM teams maintain H & S Audits and Risk Assessments for contractors in line with client and Bellrock requirements and advise on any remedial works.
  • Prepare and produce project reports if required.
  • Deliver optimised workspaces ensuring ESG and comfort are at the forefront of the strategy.
  • Assist Operational teams in completing their duties by guiding and mentoring as appropriate including supporting site queries emergencies & escalations.
  • Take ownership & a proactive approach to key deliverables to the Compliance Manager providing appropriate updates, reporting & opportunities where possible.

Commercial

  • Verify the contracts & ensure standards delivery of an effective Planned Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Assist FM Team and Supply Chain Manager with the performance management of assigned and direct contracts to ensure all technical KPI’s are met.
  • Provide weekly/monthly reports relating to areas of compliance and any other report required by the Client.
  • Review the performance of all subcontractors necessary to the effective day‑to‑day delivery of the maintenance and PPM service.

Technology

  • Become familiar with the Concerto CAFM system and utilise to ensure that an overview of contract performance can be monitored, gauged and managed.
  • Develop a full understanding of client technology systems & how they interact with Concerto.

Technical

  • Deliver comprehensive MI reporting information to the Compliance Manager.
  • Measure and monitor engineering compliance across the portfolio and provide detailed reporting and analysis on trends together with improvement plans.
  • Conduct regular maintenance engineering audits and project records to ensure that high standards are upheld throughout the portfolio.
  • Manage and monitor the PPM schedule supporting supplier management & the delivery team.
  • Provide technical advice and authorising person.
  • Ensure reporting & impact of engineering updates are delivered appropriately to key team members.

Risk Management

  • Support on the Implementation of a SSOW procedure alongside the QSHE Director.
  • Review due dates for statutory tasks before loading PPM planner.
  • Review WRA/FRA written schemes, AE’s/AP’s are updated on an annual basis.
  • Attend weekly/monthly/quarterly management meetings as and when required.
  • Manage relationships between all stakeholders when directed by Compliance Manager.

Business Growth

  • Ensure requests for additional services and variations are priced and documented in line with the contractual requirements.

What does it take?

  • Good knowledge of working practices in the delivery of compliance.
  • 5 years + experience working on multi‑site or large FM contracts that require regular reporting.
  • Experience of auditing in corporate environments.
  • Ability to communicate at various levels both internally and externally.
  • Health and Safety qualifications.
  • Engineering qualifications across M and E activity (CIBSE or HND).

Working arrangements
