We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and reliable plumber to join our team and carry out a range of plumbing planned/reactive maintenance and water hygiene tasks. This position is ideal for someone with a background in plumbing or related building services who is looking to develop their career.

As a Plumber / Water Hygiene Technician with Bellrock, you’ll do it by:

  • Performing basic plumbing reactive maintenance tasks including repairing/replacing taps and valves, unblocking sinks, toilets and drains, and repairing leaks.
  • Assisting senior engineers with more complex installations and repairs.
  • Completing quarterly descaling of shower heads and hoses, across the whole wing.
  • Carrying out weekly/daily flushing.
  • Carrying out weekly sampling for laboratory testing.
  • Carrying out 6‑monthly thermostatic mixing valve servicing.
  • Conducting risk assessments and inspections of water systems, including cold water tanks, pipework.
  • Staying current with industry standards, codes, and regulations, ensuring compliance in all activities.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and service reports.
  • Ensuring tools, materials, and equipment are used safely and stored correctly.
  • Adhering to all health and safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE.
  • Providing excellent customer service when working in occupied rooms/areas.

What does it take?

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing systems and maintenance techniques.
  • Familiarity with relevant guidelines and standards, such as ACOP L8, and HTM04‑01.
  • Ability to use common plumbing tools and equipment.
  • Previous experience in plumbing or a related maintenance trade.

Working arrangements: We embrace smarter working practices which offer our employees the opportunity to work their hours flexibly and remotely where their roles and business needs allow. In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work from St George's Hospital, Tooting, SW17 0GT, Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with an hour for lunch break.
