Overview: The Mechanical Engineer is to carry out plumbing and mechanical maintenance on the north portfolio of contracts, which ranges from PPM, reactive works, remedial works, and minor works installs. As the face of Bellrock, we want an outgoing person to work with our customers to deliver a high standard of works with a responsible Health and Safety culture.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out works to a high standard.
- Carry out all duties to the highest Health and Safety standards.
- Ensure all PPE is worn correctly and kept in good order.
- Communicate effectively with the technical operations team.
- Carry out all compliance certification required for the role.
- Build a good working relationship with both the office and engineering teams.
- Form part of a call-out rota (1-10).
- Keep your van, tools, and uniform clean and in good working order.
General Duties:
- Carry out other duties consistent with the post-holder’s knowledge and skills which are necessary for the satisfactory completion of contracts or business goals.
- Participate in the out of hours call-out rota when it is your turn to do so defined by the current rota schedule.
- Comply with all company policy and procedures, legislation, and regulatory requirements.
What does it take?

- The successful candidate will be an experienced mechanical engineer and will ideally have worked in the commercial and hospitality sectors.
- Full understanding of a workforce management (CAFM) system via a PDA tablet.
- Wide knowledge of Health & Safety.
- Previous experience within the FM/Building Services sector.
- Previous experience with digital workplace management CAFM systems.
- Previous experience of SFG20 or other recognised maintenance standards.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office package products.
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing Installations (or equivalent) - Desirable.
- Health & Safety qualification (IOSH) - Desirable.
- G3 Unvented Qualification.
- Organised and builds good working relationships with internal teams and external service providers.
- Ability to work within the team and on an individual basis with minimum supervision.
- Prioritises own workload.
- Experienced in using CAFM systems.
- Understanding of Statutory Requirements.
- Sound technical knowledge.
- Ability to understand, implement, and challenge.
- Reliable – good timekeeping and dependable.
- Independence – able to manage workload with minimal supervision.
- Teamwork – able to work independently and as part of a team, helping other team members if needed.
- Attention to detail – job requires being accurate in interpreting and communicating commercial details.
- Accurate data input requirements on internal and external work management systems.
Working arrangements:

In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work from Newham School based in London, working hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday.
