Role Overview

The Fabric Engineer is responsible for maintaining the performance, reliability and safety of a diverse property portfolio through a proactive, engineering‑led approach.

Working as part of the Symphony Engineering team, you’ll use engineering expertise, asset intelligence and digital technologies to identify and resolve issues before they become operational failures.

The role focuses on improving asset reliability, reducing operational risk and delivering high engineering standards across the estate.

You’ll collaborate with Bureau Engineers, Technical Support teams and specialist supply chain partners to make informed engineering decisions based on asset condition, operational risk and real‑time building data.

Success is measured by preventing failures, improving asset performance and driving continuous improvement, not simply completing work orders.

London, mandatory on‑site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned and reactive building fabric maintenance across commercial and retail properties.
  • Complete repairs including carpentry, joinery, decorating, ceiling, flooring, doors and minor plumbing works.
  • Support minor mechanical and electrical maintenance where required.
  • Identify defects and recommend remedial works to improve asset condition.
  • Record maintenance activities using CAFM systems.

Essential Skills

  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Carpentry, Joinery, Painting & Decorating or an equivalent trade.
  • Experience maintaining commercial buildings.
  • Multi‑trade experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.
