As Head of Passive Fire Consulting, you will lead and develop Bellrock’s Passive Fire service line, overseeing fire door inspections, compartmentation surveys, fire stopping assessments and associated consultancy services. You will hold responsibility for the technical governance, commercial performance and sustainable growth of the Passive Fire function. This includes ensuring that inspection methodologies, reporting standards and competence frameworks align with legislation, industry standards and third-party accreditation requirements. Operating as a senior leader within the Fire & Compliance division, you will ensure that Passive Fire services are delivered consistently, profitably and to a defensible technical standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing strategic leadership for the Passive Fire Consulting team, including surveyors and senior consultants.
- Owning and maintaining survey methodologies, reporting templates and quality control frameworks for:
- Fire door inspections
- Compartmentation surveys
- Fire stopping assessments
- Passive fire defect reporting
What does it take?
If you’re ready to be the energy that helps us build our business, share our success, and really own it, you’ll need:
- Extensive experience in passive fire protection inspection and consultancy, including fire door inspections, compartmentation surveys and fire stopping assessments.
- Demonstrable experience leading and developing passive fire teams within a consultancy or compliance environment.
- Strong technical understanding of passive fire systems, including fire door assemblies, structural fire protection, fire stopping and compartmentation principles.
- Recognised fire safety qualification at Level 4 or Level 5 (aligned to BS 8674 or equivalent).
- Formal fire door inspection qualification (e.g. FDIS Diploma or equivalent) highly desirable.
- Membership at Member level or above with a recognised professional body (e.g. IFE, IFSM, CABE or equivalent).
- Proven experience working within, or managing, third-party accreditation schemes (e.g. UKAS-accredited frameworks, BAFE, FIRAS or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation and guidance, including Approved Document B, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, Building Safety Act, BS 8214, BS EN 1634 series, ASFP technical guidance.
- Demonstrable experience developing survey methodologies, reporting templates and quality assurance processes.
- Commercial awareness, including experience managing utilisation rates, margin performance and subcontractor control.
- Experience contributing to audit readiness, technical governance and professional indemnity risk management frameworks.
Working arrangements:
