We’re seeking extra special Care Workers to support people to live well at home! This is a Domiciliary Home Care Support role to join our Hexham team.

Requirements of the Role
- We welcome people with no previous care experience, FULL training will be provided. But you should have compassion, respect and a desire to support people in your community!
- Car & valid driving licence
- Right To Work: Must have the right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
- Location: We recruit colleagues local to our teams, to support their local communities, so we can't accommodate relocation. Please ensure that you live within approximately 10-15 miles of our Hexham team.
- Shift Times: 5 hour blocks (mornings shifts are approx 7am-12pm & evening shifts approx 4pm-9pm) it means that you can find a healthy work-life balance. You must be available to work on alternate weekends, as well as weekdays!

- Real Living Wage employer, we pay you for Full Shifts (not just visit time) - £14.19 p/hr for time spent supporting people and £12.71 p/hr for the rest of your time – those hours between visits, travelling, training and connecting with your team

- Is this the same as a Care Assistant, Home Care Assistant or Domiciliary Support Worker role? Yes, it’s very similar, our support workers chose the title Wellbeing Support Worker to reflect their person centred, relationship driven approach to care.
- Is previous experience required? No. We hire people based on values, personality and attitude rather than experience. Around 50% of our Support Workers are new to care, so we are used to training people with all levels of experience.
- What kind of things would I be doing? Light cleaning, laundry, shopping, meal preparation, helping clients take medication, personal care (supporting someone to get dressed, toileted, washing and bathing), assisting clients to attend medical appointments, day centres, appointments and social activities.
- Would I need to do personal care? Personal care is part of the role, but you would get plenty of training.
- Do I need my own car? Yes, you will require your own car, or easy access to one that you are insured to drive.
- What is the recruitment process? Short phone call to discuss the opportunity, informal/conversational online video call led by a member of our care leadership team & a short 5 minute online values survey, final stage shadow shift with one of our current Wellbeing Support Workers.
