The Role:
- Design, program, configure, and implement PLC software for industrial automation.
- Debug, test, and validate control logic to meet performance standards.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate PLCs into wider control systems.
- Analyse and optimise existing logic for efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions, implement corrective actions, and reduce downtime.
- Produce detailed documentation, wiring diagrams, and I/O configurations.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards (ISO 9001).
- Use diagnostic tools such as Vector CANalyzer and CANfox.
The Requirements:
- Degree in Electronic/Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in Tier 1 or OEM sectors (on-highway/off-highway).
- Strong PLC programming knowledge (IEC 61131-3, CODESYS).
- Experience with debugging, control loop tuning, and signal processing.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
