We are seeking a proactive and commercially driven Key Account Manager to join the commercial team. In this role, you will support the development and execution of a strong sales plan aligned with the company’s growth strategy. You will be responsible for delivering sales, margin, and category growth across key retail and/or foodservice accounts while building strong, collaborative customer relationships. This is a critical role with significant influence over day-to-day commercial performance and long-term customer development.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management & Business Growth
- Manage and grow assigned key accounts to achieve sales, margin, and category targets.
- Develop tailored account plans to maximise performance and identify new opportunities.
- Lead key customer meetings, ensuring strong commercial presentations and negotiations.
- Optimise existing product listings and drive new product development opportunities in collaboration with NPD and Marketing.
- Customer Relationship Building
- Build and maintain collaborative, long-term partnerships with key customers.
- Act as the main point of contact for customer queries, issues, and commercial updates.
- Monitor customer performance, trends, and feedback to identify risks and opportunities.
- Commercial Strategy & Execution
- Contribute to the creation and delivery of the overall sales strategy and annual commercial plan.
- Track and analyse sales data, performance KPIs, promotions, and forecasts to support decision-making.
- Ensure pricing strategies and promotional plans align with business objectives.
- Work closely with internal teams including Supply Chain, Finance, Technical, and Operations to deliver service excellence.
- Operational & Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate records of account activity, sales forecasts, pricing agreements, and commercial documentation.
- Prepare monthly reports, business reviews, and performance updates.
- Support the day-to-day commercial operations and ensure alignment between departments.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in account management or commercial roles, ideally within FMCG or food manufacturing.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret sales data and financial metrics.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build strong internal and external relationships at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working with major retailers or foodservice customers is highly desirable.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
