The National Account Manager will be responsible for managing and developing key customer relationships across the UK and Ireland. The role will focus on both foodservice accounts and retail customers. The successful candidate will drive revenue growth, identify new business opportunities and strengthen long term partnerships with strategic customers. Acting as the primary commercial contact for accounts, this role will work closely with internal teams including NPD, production, logistics, finance and marketing to deliver excellent service and commercial performance.
Account Management & Relationship Development
- Act as the primary commercial contact for key foodservice and retail customers.
- Develop strong partnerships through regular meetings, reviews and strategic planning.
- Understand customer needs and identify opportunities to expand product ranges and increase sales.
Commercial Growth
- Deliver agreed revenue targets across the national account portfolio.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across foodservice and retail channels.
- Support Joint Business Planning and promotional strategies with key customers.
Customer Service & Delivery
- Ensure high levels of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with production, supply chain and logistics to meet customer requirements.
- Resolve customer issues quickly and maintain strong ongoing partnerships.
Reporting & Market Insight
- Monitor account performance and track KPIs.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity and customer feedback.
- Provide insights to support product development and commercial strategy.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in account management, business development or sales within food or FMCG.
- Strong relationshipâbuilding and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and strong negotiation capability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and accounts simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and performance metrics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and CRM systems.
- Experience working with both foodservice and retail customers.
- Experience managing national or strategic accounts.
- Knowledge of the UK & Ireland food industry.
