We are seeking a proactive and experienced Hygiene Manager to lead hygiene and facilities operations across all sites, ensuring compliance, safety, and operational excellence. This role is essential in maintaining food safety standards, audit readiness, and operational efficiency. You will oversee hygiene and cleaning activities, manage service providers, and ensure all equipment and environments are safe, compliant, and hazard‑free. Collaboration with departmental managers and leadership of the hygiene team will be key to your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Hygiene Operations
- Lead and develop the hygiene team to deliver consistent, high‑quality standards.
- Plan, oversee, and verify cleaning activities across production areas, equipment, and facilities.
- Maintain hygiene records, SOPs, and cleaning schedules to ensure audit readiness.
- Manage scheduled and unscheduled hygiene activities effectively.
- Monitor chemical stock levels, usage, and compliance.
- Support the Listeria Management Plan and drive continuous improvement.
- Investigate post‑clean micro failures and implement preventive actions.
- Ensure all hygiene staff are trained, refreshed, and competent in their roles.
- Collaborate with internal departments to meet hygiene and operational goals.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and performance excellence.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly facilities checks across all departments.
- Control contracts for chemicals, laundry, consumables, and PPE.
- Coordinate with external contractors for facility upgrades and maintenance.
- Lead capital expenditure projects, ensuring effective planning and return on investment.
- Promote and model safe working practices.
- Report any issues that could compromise food safety or quality.
- Monitor hygiene KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain traceable documentation of all cleaning and hygiene activities.
- Address health and safety findings from internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and food safety legislation.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Proven experience in hygiene management within the food industry (minimum 2 years).
