About the Business
A growing frozen food distribution business operating across Ireland and Northern Ireland is seeking a Management Accountant to join its finance team. The company partners with globally recognised food and frozen brands, supplying premium products to retail and convenience customers throughout the region.
Role Overview
The Management Accountant will support the Finance Manager and provide accurate and timely financial reporting to the management team. The role includes responsibility for management accounts, financial reporting, payroll, VAT, and ledger management, while also providing financial insight to support commercial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting financial schedules.
- Posting journals and completing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Producing weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports and management scorecards.
- Managing purchase and sales ledger activities.
- Monitoring stock levels and reporting stock variances.
- Supporting cashflow planning and budget preparation.
- Processing payroll and managing accounting system administration.
- Preparing VAT returns and supporting financial compliance requirements.
- Managing credit control and bank administration.
- Providing commercial input into product pricing and cost analysis.
- Monitoring operational costs including fuel, wages, and overheads.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in an accounts, finance, or office administration role.
- Newly qualified or part-qualified AAT, CIMA, or equivalent desirable.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with accounting systems (Sage experience beneficial).
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Proactive team player able to contribute within a growing business environment.
