Lucy Legal LLP is a forward-thinking practice built on the principle that exceptional legal work is underpinned by exceptional operations.
We've cultivated a culture where business support professionals are valued partners in our success, not back-office fixtures.
This HR Assistant role sits at the heart of that philosophy, offering the chance to shape how we attract, develop, and retain the legal talent that drives our practice forward.
As HR Assistant, you will be the operational backbone of our People function, working closely with our HR Manager and wider leadership team to deliver the full spectrum of human resources activity across the firm.
This is not a purely administrative post—you\'ll own meaningful projects that touch every level of our organisation, from recruitment campaigns that find exceptional lawyers and paralegals, through to onboarding processes, absence management, and staff engagement initiatives.
You\'ll be the person who ensures our HR systems run smoothly, who helps colleagues navigate policies with warmth and clarity, and who flags insights about our culture and wellbeing that matter.
Your day-to-day will blend structure with variety.
You might spend your morning processing payroll adjustments and updating our HR information system, then move into coordinating interviews for a new associate hire, then into drafting a staff newsletter or investigating an absence query.
You\'ll manage recruitment pipelines, maintain personnel records with meticulous attention to compliance, co-ordinate training and development programmes, and help ensure our people policies are understood and applied fairly.
You\'ll become the trusted point of contact for colleagues with HR questions, combining efficiency with genuine empathy—essential in a profession where people are under pressure.
We believe in growing our people.
If you join us as an HR Assistant with energy and curiosity, you\'ll have the space to develop deeper HR expertise—whether that\'s moving toward a more specialist remit (employment relations, resourcing, learning and development) or building toward HR Coordinator or HR Officer level within two to three years.
You\'ll work towards relevant qualifications if you choose, have exposure to strategic HR conversations, and be part of a small, collaborative team where your contribution is visible and valued.
