Lucy Legal LLP is a forward-thinking law firm with a reputation for intelligent, straightforward legal advice and a genuine commitment to client care. Our residential conveyancing practice has grown significantly in recent years, and we're looking for a Senior Conveyancer who can help us maintain that upward trajectory whilst setting the technical and service standards that define us.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced conveyancer to take on a leadership role without the overhead of partnership responsibilities. You'll manage a substantial and varied caseload—from straightforward freehold purchases to complex leasehold transactions, new builds, and shared ownership arrangements—whilst having the intellectual space to mentor junior colleagues and contribute meaningfully to how we deliver conveyancing at Lucy Legal.
The hybrid arrangement means you'll have the flexibility to balance focused casework with collaborative time in our Buckingham office, and the contract basis offers genuine flexibility for the right candidate.
Your day-to-day will be centred on delivering exceptional client outcomes. You'll be drafting sophisticated legal documents, raising and responding to intricate property enquiries, and navigating title defects with the kind of technical precision that clients trust and estate agents respect. You'll work closely with mortgage lenders, local brokers, and agents, building relationships that generate referrals and goodwill.
Equally important, you'll be reviewing files prepared by junior team members, offering constructive guidance, and helping them develop their technical acumen—the kind of mentorship that both strengthens the team and is genuinely rewarding.
Compliance and risk management sit at the heart of everything we do. You'll ensure every file meets SRA guidelines, CQS standards, and our AML obligations without cutting corners or letting process become bureaucracy. This role offers you the autonomy to manage your own caseload with strategic efficiency, whilst contributing to the broader business development agenda by nurturing relationships with key referrers.
Whether you're looking for a stepping stone, a long-term base, or flexibility during a particular life chapter, this contract role offers genuine career scope.
