Reporting to the Head of Marketing/Marketing Director, the Marketing Operations & Insights manager is responsible for optimising Marketing platforms such as Marketing Cloud, strengthening marketing data governance, developing addressable audiences and nurture programmes, and orchestrating AI-powered workflows, automation, and insights.
The role sits at the intersection of Marketing, Sales, Data, Technology, and Operations, ensuring marketing platforms, processes, data, and performance insights are aligned to improve marketing performance, ROI, pipeline contribution, and wider business impact.
Overview
To maximise marketing effectiveness by leading marketing operations, data governance, AI adoption, automation, and performance management across the marketing function.
The role will optimise Marketing Cloud and other marketing platforms, develop high-quality addressable audiences and nurture programmes, and use data, automation, and AI-powered insights to improve campaign performance, return on investment, pipeline contribution, and business impact.
Collaborate with teams to implement Automation and AI workflows.
Responsibilties
Marketing Operations & Platform Optimisation
- Own the operational effectiveness of Martech stack such as Marketing Cloud and related marketing technology platforms.
- Proactive review of Martech stack to provide recommendations
- Improve campaign processes, workflows, governance, and standards to increase efficiency, quality, and scalability.
- Partner with Marketing, Sales, Data, and Technology teams to ensure platforms and processes support business priorities.
Data Governance, Audiences & Nurture Programmes
- Lead marketing data governance, ensuring data quality, compliance, segmentation standards, and effective use of customer and prospect data.
- Work with legal/compliance for best practices related to data privacy management, changes in policy and safeguarding organizational data assets.
- Develop addressable audiences, segmentation approaches, propensity views, and nurture programmes that improve engagement and conversion.
- Work with stakeholders to align audience strategy with campaign goals, sales priorities, and customer lifecycle objectives.
AI Adoption, Automation & Workflow Orchestration
- Identify, design, and orchestrate AI-powered workflows that improve marketing productivity, personalisation, campaign execution, and decision-making.
- Champion responsible AI adoption across marketing, ensuring use cases are practical, governed, measurable, and aligned to business outcomes.
- Automate repetitive processes and reporting activities to free capacity for strategic, creative, and commercial work.
Performance Management, Insights & ROI
- Define performance frameworks, KPIs, dashboards, and reporting rhythms that provide actionable insight into marketing effectiveness.
- Partner with finance, sales and marketing leadership to design, develop and maintain critical metrics to enable data-driven decisions.
- Analyse campaign, audience, spend, pipeline, and conversion data to identify improvement opportunities and inform marketing investment decisions.
- Provide recommendations that improve campaign performance, ROI, pipeline contribution, and measurable business impact.
Skills/Experience
Essential Experience
- Experience with Salesforce Marketing cloud
- Significant experience in marketing operations, marketing automation, CRM, Marketing Cloud, campaign operations, or marketing performance roles.
- Proven track record improving marketing effectiveness through data-driven audience strategy, automation, reporting, and process optimisation.
- Experience developing segmented audiences, nurture journeys, lead management processes, and campaign measurement frameworks.
- Experience introducing or scaling AI, automation, or workflow improvements within marketing or commercial teams.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of marketing technology, Marketing Cloud optimisation, CRM integration, data governance, segmentation, and campaign operations.
- Highly analytical and commercially minded, with the ability to translate data into clear insights, actions, and business recommendations.
- Good understanding of AI-enabled marketing use cases, automation opportunities, governance considerations, and adoption approaches.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing process design, and project management skills.
