Overview

Reporting to: Assurance Certification Manager

Responsible for: Health and Safety of Bell locations including Voyager Park and all office locations

Based at: On-site split between Voyager Park and Bay House office, Portsmouth

Scope: Bell (UK and all International Locations)

Responsibilities

  • Operational Health and Safety: Manage the day-to-day delivery of Health & Safety activities across Bell office locations and home-working environments. Provide dedicated onsite Health & Safety support for Bay House and Voyager Park offices in Portsmouth. Conduct regular workplace inspections and support the resolution of identified Health & Safety issues. Maintain Health & Safety policies, procedures and associated documentation. Support employees and managers with practical Health & Safety advice and guidance.
  • Compliance Audits and Standards: Support the ongoing maintenance and delivery of ISO 45001 and SafeContractor requirements. Coordinate and support internal and external Health & Safety audits. Conduct supplier and contractor Health & Safety compliance reviews and audits. Monitor contractor compliance with Bell’s Health & Safety policies, procedures and site requirements. Support supplier due diligence activities relating to Health & Safety standards and regulatory compliance. Monitor and maintain Health & Safety compliance activities and action trackers. Ensure Health & Safety records and documentation are maintained accurately and in line with legal requirements. Work collaboratively with Legal and the Policy Steering Committee to review, maintain and update Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance and alignment with business requirements. Support the implementation of corrective actions and continuous improvement activities.
  • Incident and Risk Management: Manage workplace incident investigations and support root cause analysis. Coordinate and manage RIDDOR reporting requirements where applicable. Support the completion and review of risk assessments across offices. Monitor Health & Safety trends and escalate concerns where appropriate. Support emergency procedures and workplace safety arrangements. Update and Maintain COSH risk assessments.
  • Employee Support: Manage and support DSE assessment requests and ergonomic workplace requirements. Work closely with the People & Values Team to support pregnancy workplace risk assessments. Provide guidance to managers and employees on workplace Health & Safety matters. Support employee workplace safety and working environments.
  • Facilities and Site Support: Work closely with Facilities Managers to support safe office operations and workplace standards. Support office moves, new site setups and exiting locations from a Health & Safety perspective. Ensure workplace signage, first aid arrangements and safety equipment are maintained appropriately. Liaise with contractors and third parties to ensure compliance with Bell’s Health & Safety requirements.
  • Training and Engagement: Deliver Health & Safety inductions and awareness sessions for employees. Conduct Health & Safety training, including toolbox talks, through evaluation and feedback and embed a strong safety culture across the business. Support and coordinate Bell’s network of Health & Safety Champions. Promote good Health and Safety practices across the business. Encourage employee engagement and proactive reporting of Health & Safety concerns.
