Bell Ingram is looking for a land agent to join their Infrastructure and Renewables team to help deliver existing and future projects across the north of England. Bell Ingram is one of the UK’s largest independent firms of rural business specialists. We work with many national and international companies managing rural, commercial and residential property portfolios and facilities. Our utilities, infrastructure, and land management work across the North of England includes delivering infrastructure and renewable energy projects for a wide range of clients, as well as implementing our clients’ land management strategies. The role

The Surveyor will support the team in Kendal to deliver utility, infrastructure and renewable projects. Key tasks will include:

  • Deliver land and property advice and services to and on behalf of clients.
  • Deliver a range of tasks and/or schemes, to a high standard. Using initiative and a proactive approach to ensure client deadlines and objectives are met and taking ownership of the quality of work delivered.
  • Develop strong working relationships with client personnel, and internal and external stakeholders including contractors, consultants, landowners/occupiers, leading negotiations, managing expectations, and providing feedback to improve the level of service provided.
  • Property and asset management – meeting clients to understand how they currently manage their assets and how they would like to manage their assets in the future. Developing long-term improvement strategies, managing capital and operational budgets and investment programmes.
  • Responsible for maintaining/improving client relationships by upholding quality standards.
  • Supporting trainees within the department / office.
  • Developing new business opportunities across the north-west of England.
  • Be commercially aware, maintain good records, comprehensive files and records to provide regular client updates, and ensure audit compliance with Company ISO procedures.

You will be supporting the delivery of a diverse and exciting portfolio of projects. Applicants should be comfortable managing multiple projects at different stages of development and excel at keeping projects moving forward efficiently on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ideally will have a MRICS or AssocRICS qualification although we would consider an individual with good experience in a range of utilities projects or roles such as a wayleave officer or agricultural liaison officer (ALO).
  • Great IT skills with good working knowledge of MS Excel, Word packages and GIS platforms (MS projects desirable, but not essential).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and a large amount of both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Be comfortable meeting people on-site and virtually – colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Have a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site and project locations.
  • Be a team player and have a can-do attitude.

Kendal – Situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park, our office provides an excellent location from which to deliver services across the region. The office provides specialist land agency advice and services for infrastructure and renewables companies, as well as managing a mixed property portfolio.
