Bell Cornwall Recruitment are delighted to be working with a well‑established but continually growing specialist supplier and distributor of quality, bespoke products for a diverse range of industries. They are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their operation and to ensure that quality is built into every stage of the process.
The main duties and responsibilities of the Supplier Quality Engineer include (but are not limited to):
- Lead the Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) function and ensure that all suppliers meet the quality and compliance standards.
- Maintain the SQA system whilst conducting supplier onboarding audits and capability assessments.
- Develop and maintain a supplier performance management system.
- Drive the supplier non‑conformance management process, reviewing root causes and approving corrective actions.
- Lead and coordinate all quality and technical projects, including product development, supplier changes, testing programmes, and process improvement initiatives.
The successful person will have:
- Engineering qualification highly desirable, with experience in mechanical, automotive, or component manufacturing.
- Competent in reading technical drawings, understanding tolerances, dimensions.
- CAD literacy advantageous.
- Evidence of involvement in supplier manufacturing processes and understanding the impact they play.
- An eye for continuous improvement processes.
