Paraplanner
Salary: 38,000- 42,000 per annum, depending on experience
Location: West Midlands / Sutton Coldfield
Working pattern: Office - Flexible on Hours & Structure
Employment: Permanent
About Our Client
Our Client is a small, established financial planning firm based in the West Midlands, with two experienced financial advisers.
They are looking for an experienced Paraplanner to join their team and become a key part of the business. This is an opportunity to work closely with the advisers in a friendly, professional environment, with genuine responsibility and the opportunity to make a real contribution to the continued growth of the firm.
The role
You will work closely with our two advisers, providing high-quality technical and paraplanning support across the full advice process.
We are looking for someone who is experienced, organised and confident working independently, with the ability to take ownership of cases and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.
You'll have genuine scope to build the role around your strengths, interests and ambitions. We want someone who will take ownership, have a voice in how we work, and play an important part in helping us develop our processes and proposition as the business expands.
There is also plenty of opportunity for progression. If your ambition is to develop towards an adviser role over time, we'd be very supportive of that and can help you build the skills and experience needed to get there. Equally, if you love paraplanning and want to develop your career as a highly skilled paraplanner, that's absolutely fine too.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing suitability reports and recommendation letters.
- Undertaking technical and product research across pensions, investments and retirement planning.
- Preparing and maintaining cash-flow models using Voyant.
- Managing client information, workflows and cases through Xplan.
- Supporting advisers with client reviews, new business and ongoing planning.
- Liaising with providers, platforms and other third parties.
- Managing your own caseload and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
- Maintaining high standards of compliance, documentation and file quality.
- Providing technical support and identifying issues or opportunities for the advisers.
About you
We are looking for an experienced Paraplanner who:
- Has previous experience within an IFA or financial planning environment.
- Is confident preparing suitability reports with minimal supervision.
- Has strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments and retirement planning.
- Has experience using Xplan and Voyant.
- Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Can manage their own workload and take ownership of cases.
- Is proactive, commercially aware and enjoys being part of a small team.
- Takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
If you're looking for a role in financial services where you can have real responsibility, work closely with advisers, influence how a growing practice operates and have a genuine say in the direction of your own career, we'd love to hear from you.
