The Role
As Recruitment Assistant, you will support the smooth running of day-to-day recruitment activities across the business. Working closely with the Recruitment Manager and hiring managers, you will assist with sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews, maintaining recruitment records, and ensuring a professional candidate experience. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in recruitment while developing knowledge of talent acquisition processes in a busy and fast-paced environment.
You will help keep recruitment workflows organised, contribute to clear and timely communication with candidates and managers, and support administrative tasks to ensure compliance and efficiency throughout the hiring process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in searching for candidates on LinkedIn, job boards, and internal databases
- Contact candidates to confirm interest, availability, and eligibility
- Arrange and support initial screening calls where required
- Maintain candidate records and update internal trackers
- Help build basic talent pools for key construction and site-based roles
- Post job adverts across agreed platforms
- Proofread and format job descriptions and listings
- Coordinate interview scheduling with candidates and managers
- Send confirmations and follow-ups related to interviews
- Collect feedback and maintain accurate records on the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
- Assist with pre-employment checks (e.g. right to work documents, CSCS cards, references)
- Prepare offer letters and assist with onboarding coordination
- Ensure candidate data is managed in line with GDPR requirements

- Experience in administrative support within a fast-paced environment
- Experience conducting candidate/client/customer outreach or screening calls
- Educated to degree level in English
- Basic GDPR or data-handling awareness
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive and able to prioritise tasks effectively
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
- Resilient and able to manage multiple open roles simultaneously
