We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team in London. The position will be a full‐time, permanent contract and based primarily within one of our offices, with regular site visits as required. You will play a key role in managing costs, contracts, and financial control on cladding remediation, industrial new‐build, and refurbishment projects, ensuring successful delivery for both BBP and our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts.
- Carry out valuations, prepare interim applications for payment, and produce final accounts.
- Assess, value, and negotiate variations and change orders.
- Provide accurate and timely cost reporting to support commercial decision‐making.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering, and contract administration.
- Review and negotiate subcontractor accounts and payments.
- Support project teams with contractual and financial advice.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities and maintain accurate project records.
- Contribute to business improvement by supporting best practices in cost management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
- Proficient in cost management software and MS Office.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a construction‐related discipline.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem‐solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities with a collaborative, professional approach.
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to detail and commercial awareness.
- UK driving licence and access to a business‐insured vehicle preferred.
