The Role

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team in Manchester. The position will be a full‑time, permanent contract and based primarily within one of our offices, with regular site visits as required. You will play a key role in managing costs, contracts, and financial control on cladding remediation, industrial new‑build, and refurbishment projects, ensuring successful delivery for both BBP and our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts.
  • Carry out valuations, prepare interim applications for payment, and produce final accounts.
  • Assess, value, and negotiate variations and change orders.
  • Provide accurate and timely cost reporting to support commercial decision‑making.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering, and contract administration.
  • Review and negotiate subcontractor accounts and payments.
  • Support project teams with contractual and financial advice.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities and maintain accurate project records.
  • Contribute to business improvement by supporting best practices in cost management.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
  • Proficient in cost management software and MS Office.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a construction‑related discipline.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities with a collaborative, professional approach.
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to detail and commercial awareness.
  • UK driving licence and access to a business‑insured vehicle preferred.
