Commercial wholesale nursery, growing bedding and pot plants for major high street multiples and supermarkets, pumpkin crop. This is a varied role and you will assist with aspects of nursery production, plant care and husbandry, packing orders and nursery maintenance as required to meet Company objectives.
Duties and key responsibilities
- Production Duties
- Assist in the seeding house, working on plug production, potting young plants
- Moving trollies and stock around the nursery including laying out and spacing crops on the ground
- General housekeeping duties such as cleaning production and machines and general nursery maintenance
- Watering crops and general plant husbandry
- Spacing and laying out plants
- Picking orders
- Completing sowing and production records as required
- Preparing product for orders and picking customer orders
- Packing and loading of plants prior to dispatch
- Working on sales lines to produce orders to customer specification
- Checking labels, completing order dispatch paperwork
- Working in dispatch and goods in
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Ideally have some horticultural knowledge or experience
- Be willing to work as part of a team
- Flexible and reliable
- Able to read and write in English to a good standard
- Enjoy working in a busy environment and to tight deadlines
- Have a good eye for attention to detail
