I am working exclusively with a really lovely business based in the Swinton area. My client is a fast-growing service business and due to growth is seeking a Payroll Manager. This is a newly created role in the business.

The Payroll Manager is responsible for all aspects of the businesses payroll functions, with end-to-end ownership of all payroll processing and related tasks. This role encompasses a requirement for strong transactional accuracy, along with process management with a key focus on control points within the payroll function to ensure strict adherence to deadlines, confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance, whilst consistently observing the agreed business behaviours to ensure a cohesive and pleasant working environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:
  • End to end payroll processing
  • Primary contact for all payroll enquiries
  • Benefit in Kind processing
  • Monthly salary processing including employee expense payments
  • Monthly timesheet processing
  • RTI Submission
  • PAYE reconciliation and payment
  • Full pensions administration
  • Working alongside HR functions to support employee onboarding and leaver processing
  • Relevant control account reconciliation
  • Processing all payroll journals
  • Transacting all external payroll recharges
  • Payroll overhead variance analysis
  • Credit Card expense journal and employee spend analysis
  • Employee expense portal administration
  • Present data for the annual pay review / assist with budget presentation
  • Primary contact for any audit requests requiring information or reports held by payroll
  • Assist with annual financial audit
  • Assist the wider finance team as required
