Fast growing technology business based in the Alderley Edge area requires a bookkeeper on a temp or temp to perm basis. This role is part time, looking for someone approximately 3 days a week. This would suit a parent looking for school hours or someone looking for flexible part time hours.

Reporting to the business owners, duties will include:

  • Day-to-Day Bookkeeping & Xero
    • Own all posting and reconciliation in Xero, including sales invoices, purchase invoices, bank reconciliations, and journals.
    • Post monthly payroll journals and ensure the nominal ledger is accurate and up to date at all times.
    • Maintain the fixed asset register and post depreciation journals.
    • Post prepayments, accruals, and deferred income entries each month.
    • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled on a monthly basis.
  • Credit Control & Accounts Receivable
    • Own the end-to-end billing process.
    • Proactively chase outstanding debts by phone and email, maintaining a debtor ledger and escalating where necessary.
    • Monitor accounts receivable aging and produce a weekly debtors report for the CEO.
    • Work with the Account Management team to identify and invoice customer overages in a timely manner.
    • Manage supplier payments and ensure the purchase ledger is maintained accurately.
  • Management Accounts & Reporting
    • Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for the CEO, including variance analysis against budget and prior year.
    • Provide meaningful commentary on financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
    • Prepare ad-hoc commercial analysis as requested by the CEO.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Own the annual budgeting process, working closely with the CEO and budget holders across the business.

The right candidate for the role will have experience of producing month end reporting, dealing with queries and be used to working in a role where you are a self-starter and confident in your own ability.
