Hours: 36 hours per week
Shift pattern: Rota basis, including 12-hour shifts and 1-2 sleep-in shifts per week
Working pattern: Includes evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays

About the Role

We are looking for a friendly, compassionate and engaging Support Worker to join a dedicated team supporting a young woman in her own home in the Lancaster area .

You will provide person-centred support tailored to her individual needs, preferences and aspirations. Working as part of a close-knit team, you will help her to live a fulfilling and meaningful life while promoting her independence, confidence and wellbeing.

She enjoys going for walks, crafts, baking and having a good chat over a coffee , so we're looking for someone who is sociable, encouraging and able to help her stay active, engaged and connected with the things she enjoys.

This is a rewarding role where building a genuine, trusting relationship is an important part of providing effective support.

This is a 36-hour-per-week role, working on a rota basis.

The role includes:

12-hour shifts

Daytime and evening working

Bank Holiday working

Flexibility to work as part of a rota to provide consistent support

We appreciate that this is an important part of the role, so applicants should be comfortable and able to commit to the required shift pattern.

Your Responsibilities

As a Support Worker, you will provide practical, emotional and person-centred support, which may include:

Supporting the individual with daily living tasks and routines.

Encouraging and promoting independence and confidence.

Supporting with self-care and personal wellbeing.

Helping develop and maintain life skills.

Supporting with budgeting and everyday decision-making.

Encouraging participation in hobbies, activities and the local community.

Supporting the individual to attend appointments and engage with relevant services where required.

Providing emotional support and reassurance.

Supporting the individual to make informed choices about their life.

Advocating for their needs, wishes and aspirations.

Responding appropriately to behaviours that may challenge.

Maintaining professional boundaries at all times.

Working collaboratively with colleagues, social workers and other professionals.

Following individual support plans, risk assessments and agreed guidance.

Maintaining accurate and appropriate records.

Promoting dignity, respect, choice and independence in everything you do.
