We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our growing finance team. This is a pivotal role designed for someone looking to launch or accelerate their career in accounting, whilst being part of an exciting industry. Key Responsibilities

  • You will support the day‑to‑day operations of the finance department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across our financial records.
  • Purchase Ledger: Processing invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and preparing payment runs.
  • Sales Ledger: Assisting with credit control, issuing invoices, and allocating incoming payments.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Monitoring daily bank activity and ensuring all transactions are accounted for.
  • Month‑End Support: Assisting the Management Accountant with journals, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Expenses & Credit Cards: Auditing employee expense claims and company credit card spend.
  • Ad‑hoc Reporting: Providing data and administrative support for audits and internal financial reviews.

Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 12 months of experience in a similar finance/accounting role (e.g., Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger Clerk).
  • Education: A recent graduate with a 2:1 or above in a relevant field (Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business).
  • Numeracy & Accuracy: High attention to detail.
  • Tech Savvy: Strong spreadsheet skills (vlookups, pivot tables) and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, SAP).
  • Communication: Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Ambition: A genuine desire to qualify as a Chartered Accountant.
