Your working arrangements will be flexible, based on the needs of the role, our customers and your preferences (agreed with your manager). Our offices are in Seaham and Bishop Auckland, and this role will require an on-site presence for part of the week.

About the role

The Electrical Manager will be responsible and accountable for the organisation's electrical compliance delivery, in association with all legislative regulations, Approved Codes of Practice (ACOP), official guidance standards and best practice, including occupied and non-occupied properties.

You will be responsible for the development of enhanced procedures and policies with regard to legislative requirements to ensure compliance, as well as the provision of advice and guidance on the identification, management and mitigation of risk, safe working practice and procedures.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To lead the maintenance of relevant electrical accreditations and competency requirements, including preparation for audits, management of associated evidence and implementation of improvement actions where required.
  • Responsible for dynamic leadership and management of the operational delivery of a Compliance service, including the effective management of all resources required to delivery excellent services whilst optimising performance, cost and risk.
  • Responsible for the successful and compliant delivery of the organisation's electrical responsive repairs, M&E works, EICR programme, associated remedial works and the overall standard of quality of electrical installation work undertaken in accordance with BS7671: Requirements for Electrical Installations, IET Wiring Regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and regulations including the scope of electrical work that the business undertakes, ensuring that safe working practices are managed and embedded in day to day operations and that electrical compliance risks are identified and appropriately managed.
