Where and when you work is flexible depending on the demands of your role, our customers’ needs and your individual work preference (as agreed with your manager).

Our offices are based in Seaham and Bishop Auckland and although we work flexibly, it is envisaged that this role will require both an offsite and onsite presence as per business need when required.

About the role

Later, you could be out visiting funded projects, catching up with the community, and seeing first‑hand how our investment is making a difference. Afternoons often involve partnership working – connecting with social prescribers, neighbourhood teams, and local organisations to strengthen community links and explore new opportunities.

It’s a varied, people‑focused role that combines office‑based work with time out in the community, making a real and visible impact where it matters most.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the coordination of a place‑based approach to implementing community‑led projects that deliver meaningful improvements to our communities, aligned with the Community Investment Strategy.
  • Implement and deliver actions outlined in the Community Investment Strategy at a local level ensuring delivery meets identified local needs.
  • Ensure that resources are allocated effectively in local communities through our open‑call grant‑making process working with local partners and stakeholders.
  • Ensure spend is effectively and clearly monitored to achieve results and demonstrate effective value for money and social impact, whilst following procurement and financial regulations.
  • Using mapping tools, community insight and other relevant information from across the organisation you will understand and analyse needs and priorities within your area becoming the go‑to expert.
  • Contribute to the Community Investment Performance management framework demonstrating tangible, relevant successes in local communities.
