We’re on the lookout for an Apprentice Development Business Administrator to join our team in September 2026 for 18 months working from our Bishop Auckland office two days per week. This is a great opportunity to start your career, gaining hands-on experience while working towards a recognised Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.
What this role is all about:
- As part of our Development team, you will support the management of the organisation’s new homes programme, working closely with the Future Homes Analyst and wider colleagues.
- You will gain experience across a wide range of activities including handovers, grant funding administration, performance monitoring and customer focused processes.
You’ll learn on the job while getting involved in:
- Assisting with the administration across the team consisting of new build handovers, updating systems (e.g. Housing Management System), and ensuring relevant colleagues are informed of completions.
- Supporting the maintenance of scheme files, property records, charging information, and audit documentation to ensure accurate and compliant record-keeping.
- Helping co-ordinate aspects of the Affordable Homes Programme, including updating grant forecasts, supporting financial cashflow tracking, and maintaining accurate programme information.
- Supporting the financial management of our development programme by ensuring supplier invoices are raised and paid accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assisting with performance monitoring activities, including gathering and updating KPI data on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Supporting the arrangement of end of defects inspections, contacting customers, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate records.
- Assisting with the assessment of new development opportunities, gathering relevant information such as utilities, local demand data, and comparable market values.
- Working positively and collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, managing your time effectively to support a range of administrative tasks and deadlines.
- Maintaining accurate records, documents, and systems, ensuring information is up to date and accessible.
- Providing general administrative support to the Development Team as required.
During your apprenticeship, you’ll gain practical experience and develop skills in:
- Project coordination and communication skills.
- Understanding of organisational culture and development.
- Building positive relationships with stakeholders and delivering great customer service.
- Using IT systems to manage information accurately (e.g. updating records, producing documents, and basic data analysis/reporting).
