About the role
This is a broad in‑house paralegal position in a dynamic scale‑up environment in an exciting new industry. Candidates will ideally have worked in‑house or in private practice for at least 2 years, however candidates with less experience will be considered if they can demonstrate a good cultural fit and willingness to learn.
Candidates will ideally have experience in the following areas:
- Negotiating simple Legal Agreements against a template such as NDAs;
- Producing engrossments and attending to completion of Legal Agreements such as commercial contracts and Property Agreements (Leases and Licences);
- Attending to post‑completion matters related to Property Agreements such as Land Registration and SDLT calculations;
- Assisting lawyers in the review and negotiation of Legal Agreements and undertaking tasks such as assisting with Word document generation, drafting amendments and fixing formatting and cross‑referencing;
- Assisting lawyers in preparing deal summary forms and PowerPoint presentations;
- Assisting with maintaining and producing trackers and reports as required;
- Monitoring external Legal spend, budgeting and raising POs;
- Conducting Legal research and keeping abreast of legislative developments;
- Producing and updating Legal templates;
- Assisting with putting in place process improvements;
- Assisting with document management and storage;
- Assisting with drafting and keeping up to date corporate policies such as Modern Slavery, Anti‑bribery, Business Continuity etc;
- Helping develop and build‑out the Legal, compliance and regulatory functions of the business.
About you
- Familiarity (or a keenness) to draft and negotiate property transactional documents, e.g. Leases, Licences, variations etc.
- Previous experience in drafting, completing and attending to post‑completion matters of Property Agreements such as Leases and Licences.
- Conducting Land Registry title searches and reviewing restrictions on title.
- Thrives working in a scale‑up environment where goal posts are constantly moving and new solutions / business models are being trialed.
- Commercial acumen to understand how to structure advice and approach in a start‑up and new industry environment.
- Comfortable working closely with the business to ensure key contractual deliverables and milestones are tracked and met.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure, whether EV, mobile, broadband, electricity.
- Familiarity with planning and street works requirements.
- Above all, you will be up for the challenge and have a willingness to learn about all parts of our business by rolling your sleeves up and diving in to help all internal business functions.

Location
The business is currently based in our office in Southwark. The position is full time, hybrid with 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) based in the office.
