About the Opportunity
Belgravia Resourcing is pleased to be partnering with a leading Transport Planning consultancy. Due to a sustained increase in their project pipeline and growth in the business, they are seeking an experienced Principal Transport Planner to join their established team. They have multiple offices but a preference towards a Basingstoke placement. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading project delivery, managing client relationships, and mentoring a talented team of junior and senior planners.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery of technical Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and ES Chapters for a diverse range of private and public sector developments.
- Experience with Junction Modelling (using Junctions 9, LinSig, or similar software).
- Negotiate with Local Highway Authorities and National Highways regarding S.278 and S.38 infrastructure agreements.
- Experience preparing fee proposals and budget management.
- Ability to pursue business development opportunities and maintain client relationships.
- Mentor and support the technical development of junior staff members.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience: Circa 5+ years of experience within a Transport Planning consultancy environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in junction modelling and a strong grasp of the UK planning system and design standards (DMRB, MfS).
Communication: Excellent report‑writing skills and the ability to present complex technical data to non‑technical stakeholders.
Qualification: Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Civil Engineering, Geography, or Urban Planning). Chartered status (TPP or CMILT) is desirable but not essential.
