This is a full-time, fixed term contract post until 31 December 2026, subject to review. Reporting to the Senior Marketing and Brand Coordinator, the post holder will be responsible for supporting the delivery of integrated council wide marketing activity – including Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and Irish language requirements – to the agreed quality, timescales, and budgets. They will work collaboratively with city partners and stakeholders and provide assistance to the Senior Marketing and Brand Manager and Senior Marketing and Communications Coordinator as needed on marketing and communications activities as required.

This department leads on strategic communications, marketing, and public engagement, ensuring that council activities are effectively communicated to residents, businesses, and stakeholders. Key functions include:

  • Campaigns, Press & Social Media – developing and delivering strategic communication priorities for council; providing a strong reactive media and social media service; assisting in the development of proactive marketing and communications plans for departments.
  • Marketing & Brand – co‑ordinating and delivering integrated marketing campaigns encompassing advertising, public relations, publications, digital marketing and social media – through working closely with a wide range of stakeholders; providing advice on the use and promotion of council and city brands.
  • Internal Communications – Developing and implementing an internal communications strategy for Belfast City Council which includes sharing news and information with staff through a range of online and offline channels.
  • Online Experience – Looks after the council’s online estate, ensuring that our audiences and citizens can easily find and access accurate information through our websites and email marketing. This team works to enhance Belfast’s reputation, promote civic engagement, and support council initiatives.
