The job holder will primarily be responsible for supervising and planning works in order to achieve any prescribed Key Performance Indicators in relation to Programme, Quality, Safety, Environment and Budget.
Main Duties:
- Deliver front-line management and supervision of reconfiguration and extension projects, alongside ongoing maintenance and assessments of Civil infrastructure.
- Support the Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager and other Management with the logistical, technical and commercial management of the project(s) to meet the overall business objectives.
- Support the project team in the design, procurement, construction, delivery, and handover of the project to achieve desired business outcomes.
- Be responsible as the day-to-day point of contact for contractor(s) and facilitate communication between airport departments, business partners, consultants, and contractors. This will involve daily and weekly briefings with accurate record keeping. These briefings will include formation and communication of lookahead schedules to stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a culture of excellent health, safety, and environmental standards across the project delivery team and business. Ensure associated contractors to deliver the highest levels of health, safety, and environmental performance achievable.
- Assist in the identification and mitigation of risks that may adversely impact works delivery or adversely affect airport operations.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory obligations applicable to this role, including all standards and code compliance, and required planning permissions. In particular, BIA Safety Management System which is governed by the UK CAA (Civil Aviation Authority).
- Positively influence key stakeholders (both internal & external) associated with the project.
- Play an active part in lessons identified process across all projects and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
- Troubleshooting in conjunction with airport departments, business partners, consultants, and contractors.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of Level 6 qualification in Civil Engineering.
- Full current driving licence & own transport.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the Civil Engineering sector as part of a project delivery team.
- Record keeping.
- Report writing / works lookahead programmes.
- Working within a Quality Control / Quality Assurance system.
- Experience of works in safety critical environments.
- Software packages such as MS Word, Outlook & Excel.
- Experience in collating, interpreting and reporting on datasets.
- Working knowledge of The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDM 2015).
- Working Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations.
- Working knowledge of Good Housekeeping practices.
